Nicole is Sterling Trustee’s Chief Fiduciary Officer. She earned her law degree from the University of South Dakota and an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington. As an attorney, Nicole brings a unique perspective to her position as trust officer – partnering with her clients and their advisors to craft strategic trust vehicles which provide asset protection, governance, and long-term wealth transfer. With over a decade of experience in trust administration, Nicole has earned the American Bankers Association designation as a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) further demonstrating her commitment to the highest standards in her field. Nicole is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Sioux Falls Estate Planning Counsel, and a member of the Board of Directors of the South Dakota Trust Association.

For Nicole, there’s nothing as beautiful or as worthwhile as tending her best-on-the-block garden, which overflows with vibrant plants and flowers. She’s particularly proud of her diverse array of delicate tropical lilies, each of which must be dug up every fall, carefully nurtured, then replanted in the spring to escape the brutal South Dakota winters. So it’s easy to see that Nicole understands how extraordinary attention, patience and commitment ensure long-lasting rewards.

The same holds true for her philosophy here at Sterling. “We meticulously cultivate every client relationship – adapting to each family’s changing needs swiftly and seamlessly,” she explains. “As an independent trustee, we believe in an individualistic approach to growing and protecting multigenerational legacies.”

Nicole and her two kids also love to explore unfamiliar places, near and far, and are most recently adventuring in their new RV.
